1. What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?
Kraag: A home for each one of my children so they would always have a place and wouldn’t have to rent or worry. My family is the most important thing in my life and being able to do this would be the ultimate blessing.
RobinD: I would bring to life the cat rescue of my dreams. My current involvement in rescue work fuels this desire, but I yearn for a cat sanctuary in line with my own vision. A place that will never turn away that sweet feline approaching peoples homes, seemingly lost or abandoned, but with tales to share of a family they loved then lost. A sanctuary capable of welcoming cats once owned by those who have passed on, whose heartless heirs abandon their beloved companions to the streets or a dark cage. I’d also establish a foundation where people could entrust their pets, ensuring their perpetual care in a nurturing environment even after their owners have departed. My deepest fear in life is that my fur babies would be abandoned to a cage or split up and forgotten once I’m no longer here, deprived of the love they deserve and left confused and grieving. I’d seriously pay just to have peace of mind about it, and I know others would too.
LYNE: First things first I would take my mom out for a fancy meal, then I would start on a plan to buy a new vehicle. I’m thinking something like a Hyundai Elantra or a Honda Civic.
Tanislarnet: A better computer or a new computer chair… no.. pay off the house…
WatcherOfHumans: A six month trip to Australia and New Zealand…
P4nda: My first purchase would my late grandparents home. My father lives there. I cannot explain in text how much he has done for me, so I’d make sure he never wanted to for anything.
CheyLyn: I wouldn’t quit my job, but I would build myself a beautiful house with a family farm. Help pay off my parents and sisters debts, save some money for my kids college and donate to my local animal shelter.
2. Where is the furthest away you have travelled from home? Would you go there again?
RobinD: I’ve ventured as far as Iceland in the north and the Bay Islands in Honduras to the south. Both rank among my most cherished vacations. I’d unquestionably return, and have many times to Honduras. I would even consider having a second home in either location.
LYNE: I’ve been to the Dominican Republic as well as Hawaii, but the Dominican is further from home. I don’t think I will go back to the Dominican again, only because it’s the type of vacation destination that I only need to see once. I will definitely be going back to Hawaii though!
Tanislarnet: I’ve been as far west as LA as far South as Key West. Ill never go back to LA but I always want to go back to the islands.
WatcherOfHumans: Australia. I actually changed my answer to number one because of this question!
P4nda: The farthest I’ve been from home was my Army deployment to Kuwait . While a disgusting place, I would go again as I never saw combat (lucky in that aspect).
CheyLyn: Chesapeake Bay, Virginia i loved it there. It was my first time ever seeing the ocean and even going in it. I would go again, I didn’t get to find any seashells or really enjoy the ocean.
3. Which game do you have the most hours played on Steam? Do you still play it?
Kraag: Over 6,000 hours into 7 Days to Die and I don’t plan on stopping. However, Starfield will be putting a damper on the 7DTD playing when it comes out September 6th.
RobinD: 7 Days to Die occupies a staggering 6300 hours of my gaming history, with Elite Dangerous in second trailing far far far behind. I am anxiously awaiting the upcoming Starfield game, hoping it will offer at least half the greatness of Elite Dangerous. However, my excitement has been dampened some upon learning that it won’t support multiplayer gameplay at launch. I much prefer to play games with friends.
LYNE: Right now my most played game on Steam is .. drumroll .. 7 Days to Die! I have 1650 hours at the moment, and though I’ve been taking a break from it lately it is still one of my favourite games. Second in line is Dead by Daylight with 1233 hours, and it was the first game I played to 1000 hours! That Nicholas Cage chapter is pretty fun.
Tanislarnet: That steam notices… 7Days. That steam doesn’t realize… War Thunder. Ill still play matches once a week to keep my skills sharp.
WatcherOfHumans: I have invested SO MANY HOURS into the Civilization series! Every version and derivative thereof. I am guessing that Civ2, Civ4 and Civ5 took the most hours but not sure which one took the most. The Fallout Series would be next. Coming up quickly is 7DtD, particularly when considering I am approaching 4000 hours since November 2021. That is about 50 hours a week…
P4nda: My most played game on steam is CS:GO at 1462Hrs. I rarely play it anymore. 7-Days is 1250Hrs. EVE Online is likely 3000. My WOW Playtime is easily 7000+
CheyLyn: Of course it’s 7 Days to Die, I still play it everyday! But lately Disney Dreamlight Vally has taken up quite a bit of my time. Palia is also becoming a huge part of my gaming time! That game is so addicting and fun!
4. What is your favorite song right now, and why?
Kraag: My favorite song of all time is Don’t Follow by Alice In Chains. It’s off the album Jar of Flies. This album, and song, will always hold a very special place in my heart.
RobinD: Choosing a favorite song is quite a loaded question for me. If you know me, you knew that music is a huge part of my life, and we are always traveling somewhere to see someone. Let’s go with a favorite band instead. My favorite band is, was, and will always be Shinedown. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve seen them perform. I have had the privilege of meeting them, toured back stage, an taken part in some of the preshow rituals. I have collected several pieces of genuine memorabilia, I have their autographs, that they signed in person on my skin, tattooed on my body. Not to mention song lyrics tattooed in a couple places as well. To say I am a big fan is an understatement. Some might even call it excessive.
LYNE: Picking a favourite is really hard, I usually have a favourite of each genre since I listen to so many different things at once. But at the moment I am really loving Nobody by Avenged Sevenfold. I went to their concert a couple weeks ago and it was one of the best I have ever been to! A7X is a special band to me because I have bonded over it with some special online friends. that
Tanislarnet: Lets go with Disturbed’s Sound of Silence cover. While S&G wrote a great song it deserved to be more than just a happyish pop song.
WatcherOfHumans: Rubber Band Man because it makes me happy…
P4nda: My favorite song has always been Ozzy Osbourne “See You on the Other Side”. My childhood made me bad at making connections with others… In this community I’ve made connections I didn’t think were possible. Long lasting friends.
CheyLyn: My favorite song is Daylight by Shinedown. This song has a lot of personal meaning behind it and I have always felt something when listening to it.
5. What is one thing that you thought you would hate, but once you tried it you actually liked it?
Kraag: Corn, and anything else I haven’t tried. As an 8 year I was a picky eater. We were having a family get together at my aunts home out in the country. They had all the kids shuck the corn, then it was boiled out back in a huge pot. I can only say it was huge to my 8 year old self. It could of been regular size for all I know. Either way, I was made to try it and that was the day I learned that there was more to eat and enjoy than hot dogs, pizza and Mac & Cheese. That was the start of me actually trying things before deciding I didn’t like it before trying it
RobinD: While many might mention food here, I’m steering in a different direction. Skydiving was a long-held desire, yet fear overshadowed my eagerness, and because I was so scared, I thought I would hate it, so I never pursued it. I took the leap, literally, when my children presented me with, and accompanied me on, a skydiving trip last Mothers Day. The experience was by far the most emotionally exhilarating, humbling, thrilling yet grounding thing I have ever done in my life. Ten out of ten will go again.
LYNE: I used to really dislike eggs, but now I love them! I think it was because my mom will not eat them unless they are burnt, so I grew up eating gross burnt eggs and I thought they were the worst thing ever. But now that I can cook them how I like, I realize that I love sunny side up! More egg sandwiches and scrambled eggs for me.
Tanislarnet: Classified.
WatcherOfHumans: Toasted peanut butter and sliced dill pickle sandwiches.
P4nda: Growing up I had no idea what Sweet Potatoes were. I tried them after my 14th Birthday. I’ll devour sweet potatoes now.
CheyLyn: I honestly hate trying new things. So whenever I try something I haven’t done I usually end up liking it. Just have to get by the first initial anxiety
6. What is something you are looking forward to right now?
Kraag: I am anxiously awaiting to see which of my children are gonna turn me into a grandparent. I have three children in the running and the race is heating up! In the mean time I am super excited for the release of Starfield. I can’t wait for the moment of excitement when I take my first step out into that new universe. I hope it’s just as amazing as walking out of the Vault in Fallout 3, that was an amazing experience.
RobinD: Retirement!! Seriously. I have so many irons in the fire right now. Somedays I just wish life could slow down so that I can kick back and have nothing to do but entertain myself.
LYNE: In the short term, I am looking forward to visiting my family for 5 days over the coming weekend! Long term, I really am excited about the idea of marrying my boyfriend of 5 years. Several of our close friends got engaged in the past month, and though that doesn’t necessarily mean it will happen for us right away, I know that it’s coming in the next couple years or so. Can’t wait!
Tanislarnet: Cooler weather. That and both kids being in school full time…
WatcherOfHumans: My trip to Rock Maple Ridge 11 – 13 August
P4nda: The end of the chick shipments to the store. 100+ baby chicks to the store every week has been a frustrating.
CheyLyn: Camping! I love going to my family owned camp and spending a weekend up there. We fish, kayaking and I love to look for rocks! I have a huge rock collect, some have holes in them and others are just pretty colors or look interesting.
7. What is your favorite thing about APG?
Kraag: The entire APG Team. I am so honored to be able to work with such a talented and passionate group of people. The skills they bring to APG are so varied and they all come together to make Apex Predator Gaming what it is; A gaming community for everyone. The passion and dedication of the team just blows my mind. I am constantly reminded of how special APG is. I get messages from players all the time. This is the result of being surrounded by such caring and dedicated individuals. They are the reason APG was founded, to create a gaming community that truly cares about its members, and the results are clear. APG Rocks!
RobinD: The foundation and collaborative spirit underlying APG are what I cherish most. No one person makes all of the decisions, no one person holds all of the cards, and everything is done as a unified team. Our joint efforts have fostered a remarkable community, comprising of outstanding team members and devoted, gracious players. A community that each team member should be proud of and I hope feels a genuine sense of belonging and influence. We have tried so hard to be sure that APG is a place where everyone is heard, valued, and feels an integral part of.
LYNE: My favourite thing about APG is how caring everyone is for each other. Our players help one another all the time and are always there for each other, as are the team for the players!
Tanislarnet: The community and how we all support each other.
WatcherOfHumans: The people are so helpful and friendly. EVEN the moderators!
P4nda: Anyone can make a suggestion. It doesn’t matter if staff or player. We are a team, which includes all of our playing community. At APG everyone is valued and welcome.
CheyLyn: I love our community the most. Everyone is amazing and helpful!
